B a p a k' s  T a l k s

These are an important resource for all Subud members for all time, and MSF is fully committed to preserving them, improving accessibility and encouraging members to make the fullest possible use of this great gift. The following grants reflect this commitment.

Complete Talks of Bapak

The job of re-transcribing and re-translating all of Bapak's 1300 talks into the four main languages (English, Spanish, French and Russian) is a massive undertaking which is expected to run to 50 volumes and take 20 years to complete.

In 2002, when Volume 7 was published, MSF increased its contribution by 50% to help hasten the completion of this prodigious effort, undertaken by Tuti and Sharif Horthy. This work comes under SPI. Volume 13 has recently been completed. Publication of the talks is managed by Subud International.

Tape Preservation Unit

The work of the Tape Preservation Unit is the long-term preservation of Bapak and Ibu Rahayu's talks on an optical storage medium. Optical storage media are not subject to inherent decay as is the case with magnetic media. Collecting and preserving these talks ensures their readiness for translation and safeguards them for generations to come.

MSF regularly supports the Tape Preservation Unit and has given grants of $7,000 in the past few years.

International Archives

Together with Bapak's Talks, the Archives are a legacy that must be preserved for future generations. The Subud Archives can also become the basis of an “information bank” about Subud and its projects that could provide a valuable and much needed resource.

For many years Harlinah Longcroft's History of Subud project continued with limited or no financial assistance. In 1998, under the auspices of the Media Unit of the International Subud Committee (ISC), the History Project successfully applied for a grant from MSF.

As a result of MSF funding, Harlinah has been able to increase her energies and has successfully completed and published Books 1 and 2 of Volume I. She is now well advanced on the third book of Volume I.

C a r e  S u p p o r t  T e a m (formerly International  Almoners)

MSF is committed to supporting the Care Support Team (formerly International Almoners), whose mission is to disburse money to our brothers and sisters in desperate financial crisis, have nowhere else to turn for help, and are from countries that do not have personal aid funds of their own. Since 1999, MSF has contributed $5,000 annually to the Almoners.
