How to Apply for a H o u s i n g  G r a n t

MSF accepts applications for a variety of projects, but since most are for housing grants or loans,
we have provided some special guidelines for those applicants.

Consider that at present MSFs total budget for housing grants is limited to US$50,000 per year. So look to an MSF grant or loan to help top up your funds, not to be the sole financial source.

  But first and foremost, does the group enthusiastically support owning a Subud House?

  Then, does the group have enough money in its housing fund to prove this?

Is there agreement amongst members as to:

  • What facilities you need. Is the space large enough for a free latihan?
  • Where the premises should be located for easy and safe access, especially for the ladies to be able    to attend latihan.
  • How the house is to be maintained (rates, electricity bills, heating costs, upkeep, etc.).

Has the group considered these questions:

  • Can the house be easily used to support itself?
  • Would it be an attractive shop window for Subud
  • Is the group interested in using the house for a Wing project?

In addition MSF likes to know:

  • Does your National Committee support this initiative? How about and your national Susila Dharma,    SICA or SES?
  • Do the International Helpers and Zonal Representative in your area believe that MSF should support your effort?

But above all MSF needs to know:

  • that Subud is registered in your country;
  • that the property be owned by the registered Subud Body in your country;
  • that all legal requirements have been fulfilled;
  • that this is a viable project which will be supported by the group for many years to come.
